Many people think that stormwater is treated, but this is not true. Everything that enters storm drains flows UNTREATED directly into our creeks, rivers, bays, beaches and, ultimately, the ocean. 🌊 There are several actions that San Diegans and local businesses can take to prevent stormwater pollution. If you are a local business owner, here are a few ways you can help reduce pollution at work: 💧 Keep dumpster lids closed 💧 Have a plan to clean up spills quickly and safely 💧 Ensure hazardous waste materials have secondary containment barriers to stop runoff 🔗 Get more tips on how you can prevent pollution as a business at ThinkBlue.org/Tips-and-Resources. Happy #AmericaRecyclesDay! ♻ Help keep our waterways free of trash and pollutants by reducing, reusing and recycling! 💧 Here’s how: ♻️ Reduce: Consider decluttering your home and donating used items. ♻️ Reuse: Opt for reusable water bottles, containers and bags. ♻️ Recycle: Always remember to dispose of recyclables, like clean paper, plastic, cartons and glass, in a covered blue bin. #ThinkBlueSanDiego #ReduceReuseRecycle #SanDiego
